Mining companies of different sizes operate in Madagascar. Preceding their installation, these companies have thought long and hard about the investment conditions of the Big Island. These investors recognize that Madagascar met the criteria of competitiveness, which is no longer the case today. Some of these companies are still present in Madagascar although fragile, others have preferred to leave following the bad governance caused by the political crisis. Madagascar needs neither to develop a new legal framework nor to create new structures to restore the business climate, it would simply be necessary to strengthen and improve the existing structures that in the past have been recognized as models in Africa.
